SPOT Hospital conducted a CME on the Common Problems of Spine – An Update on Sunday, the 15th September 2013 at Hotel Ramada, Chennai Egmore, as part of their 9th Anniversary Celebrations under the auspices of Tamilnadu Orthopaedic Association and Madras Orthopaedic Society.
The CME was inaugurated by Dr. K. Rosaiah, His Excellency, The Governor of Tamil Nadu. Prof. R. Selvaraj, The President of Tamil Nadu Orthopaedic Association presided over the function. Prof. Nalli R. Uvaraj introduced His Excellency to the Audience. 12 eminent doctors were recognized and awarded with Achiever Awards for their various accomplishments in their specialization. They were, Prof. Arumugam, Prof. Deenadhayalan (not present), Dr. P.V. Jayasankar,Prof. R.H. Govardhan, Prof. Nalli R. Uvaraj, Dr. Natesan, Dr. M. Parthasarathy, Dr. Prakasam (not Present), Prof. Shanmugam (Anesthesia), Prof. V. Veerappan, Dr. Vijay C. Bose, Prof.P.V. Vijayaraghavan
There were 3 live surgeries, a hands on workshop and many paper presentations during the CME. Around 140 practicing Orthopaedic surgeons attended the meeting. The CME was accredited with 10 credit points from Dr. M.G.R. Medical University and 2 credit points from Tamilnadu Medical Council.
